James Allen’s website videos are damn good. I was worried about buying a diamond online but their HD videos let me see every detail. Took about 3 weeks to arrive and customs was straightforward. Ring is beautiful and my husband was impressed with the sparkle. Price was reasonable compared to what I saw at Orchard Road.
Very impressed with James Allen. Got my engagement ring from them last year and just ordered matching wedding bands. Their diamond search filters are comprehensive and the videos really help. Only minor issue was the engagement ring arrived later than estimated, which meant that my fiance had to adjust the proposal plans (the proposal was a surprise, the ring was not!).

They will help you figure out what is right for you… I came in thinking I wanted a flawless diamond, but realised that as long as you get a gem that is eye-clean you’re in good shape and can save money without paying thousands extra for D color of IF clarity.
Buying locally from a retail store will cost you an arm and a leg (that is where there is the largest markup in price). Buying online makes sense, and James Allen is the best of the online options. I did my research reviewing other sites (Bluenile, Brilliantearth and a handful of other independents), and across the spectrum of diamond sizes and qualities, James Allen consistently came out with prices that were ~10-15% cheaper. That’s a lot of money when you’re buying an engagement ring.
