The Singapore Jewellers Association (SJA) has announced the return of the Singapore Jewellery Design Award (SJDA), a cornerstone event celebrating the intricate art of jewellery design and innovation.
This event, in partnership with the Jewellery Design & Management International School (JDMIS) and IEG Asia, is set to redefine the boundaries of creativity and craftsmanship in the industry.
Bridging Tradition and Innovation
The SJDA, with a history spanning more than ten years, is offering three categories in this year’s event: ‘Jewellery Without Limits’, ‘Fresh Facets’, and ‘Exquisite AI’. These categories are established to accommodate a wide range of participants, from experienced designers to those exploring new technologies in jewellery design.
The 2024 edition is themed ‘Sustainable Luxury’, challenging participants to merge the realms of opulence and eco-consciousness. This theme encourages designers to venture beyond traditional materials and methodologies, advocating for pieces that not only mesmerise visually but are also ethically and environmentally sound.
Prestigious Recognition and Rewards
Winners of the SJDA will be rewarded with not just cash prizes and training vouchers from JDMIS but also significant exposure opportunities. The Grand Prize winner of the ‘Jewellery Without Limits’ category will be granted an exhibition booth at the Vicenzaoro trade event, complete with travel and accommodation, courtesy of IEG Asia.
The competition will be judged by a panel comprising renowned figures in the jewellery world, including Alan Revere, Federica Frosini, and Katerina Perez. Their expertise and influence are set to guide the judging process, ensuring the recognition of truly innovative and sustainable designs.
Key Dates and Participation
The Singapore Jewellery Design Award (SJDA) 2024 timeline includes the initial judging phase on April 7th, followed by the final evaluation on April 15th. The winners will be publicly announced towards the end of April. The awards will be highlighted during the Singapore International Jewelry Expo 2024’s inauguration on July 11th.
